Complex Ion Equilibria

Is there complex ion equilibria on the AP Chemistry Test?

You better believe it!

I just checked the collegeboard site and there is no mention of complex ion equilibria. Are you serious?

When I took the test, there were hardly any complex ion topics (from what I can remember, just predicting the products had a few complex ion reactions). I wouldn't sweat it, since you need such a low percentage to score a five.

bump...........

I say no. I also didn't see any on my test. AP Chemistry hardly expects you to understand complex ion formation, let alone equilibria...

yes, well, what my teacher likes to say is that every minor topic is one multiple choice question...and they add up! g

by complex ion equilibria,

do you mean something like this?

Cu^+2 + NH3 >< Cu(NH3)4^+2

i've done things like that, but never with equilibrium thrown into the mix. i would assume that if you can do the first part, you won't miss too many points on the equilibrium portion.

I think you just have to know that it dissolves

:D

Yeah, I think my teacher said that they got rid of this section fairly recently.
