So when I first filled out my fafsa, i accidentally put my total family income as twice what it really is. After I realized this I made corrections to my fafsa which was a month and a half ago. Originally I was not awarded any Cal Grant because my family income was so high. Now since I made corrections to my fafsa, i've been waiting for Cal Grant to update my status. The first time I called Cal Grant to ask if they received the corrections, they said that my school (UCI) had not sent them. So i called UCI and the lady i talked to said that i didn't have to worry cause they would do all of the stuff regarding sending my corrections to Cal Grant. It's been over about a month since I called UCI and my status has still not been updated. So today I called Cal Grant and the lady I called was clueless; i asked her if they received my fafsa corrections and she said yeah, "i THINK we did" and i was eligible but since they had so many applicants, i was denied. Since I had my doubts, I called UCI and asked if they had sent in my fafsa corrections and she said fafsa does that (which is contradictory of what the lady i talked to a month ago said). Then a couple minutes later, she said that they haven't sent in my fafsa corrections to cal grant because they are waiting for copies of my tax returns. So now I don't know what to do. Everyone I talk to seems to be contradicting each other/themselves. I'm really stressed since the Cal Grant is $8k and without it, I might not be able to afford UCI and might have to go to community college. What should I do?
