Get earplugs. :D

I brought like 70 pairs of underwear and socks so I didn’t have to do laundry for a long time.

OP, you are an absolute saint. is Cal a little too hilly for biking, especially if I’m in Foothill?

It is rather hilly; a bicycle with three chainwheels in front is recommended unless you are a strong competitive bicyclist.

See the following about locking your bicycle:
[Lock Strategy](http://sheldonbrown.com/lock-strategy.html)

All of the people I know at Berkeley (4 people) have told me not to bring a bike.

Biking is a hassle… don’t… unless you live off campus, walking is the best viable option… Locking, possibility of getting a ticket, and theft are such hassles. Just walk :P!

I’m not going to Berkeley, but this seems useful for any college so I’m saving it :)

Strong bicyclists may find some of the Berkeley hills and other east bay areas (on the other side of the hills) to be enjoyable recreational rides.

Ucbalumnus - if you lock your bike any other way, there is a strong chance it’ll get stolen. Haha. I only rode my bike a few times, but I do know people who rode theirs every day. The bus system was just more convenient for me, but it depends a lot upon where you live. I’d say Foothill is too hilly for a bike and the Units are probably too close to campus for it to be necessary.

Condoms. Lots and lots of condoms.

alcohol, lots and lots of alcohol.
