Compsci AB test?

I'm currently taking Compsci A. but I was wondering, is it possible to self study a little more and take the AB test instead? then that way i could eliminate one class next year. I have access to a few professional programmers, so it's not like i'm completely on my own. Is it doable over the year?

Anyone? who have taken the tests?

Yes .

To be honest, it is doable. However, I would recommend a LOT of practice. It is hard to do well on the exam itself without practice.

I personally took Comp Sci A then took Comp Sci AB. I did not study as much for Comp Sci AB though. Too much practice ingrained the rules into me.

I did exactly this last year. I was in a Compsci A class and then around February decided that I wanted to study for the AB exam. I learned the new material from the Barron’s Review book and did really well on the AB exam. Definitely doable, but it will be difficult if this isn’t a subject that you are really interested in. I think the fact that I enjoyed learning the new things instead of just learning them so that I could pass a harder test was the difference between success and failure.
