Compsci Transfer Pathways

The UC admissions website added Computer Science as a new Transfer Pathway major, but ASSIST still displays the same articulation agreements as before. Will all 9 campuses have the same required courses when ASSIST releases the agreements for the 2016-17 school year?

If I understand Transfer Pathways, no school will have requirements beyond TP, but they can have less stringent requirements. So the 2016-17 ASSIST could have different requirements for different schools. I suspect TP will have no effect on ASSIST unless the TP requirements are less stringent than the previous requirements for a school.

I see, it’s kind of confusing because UCLA for example still lists Physics III and Chemistry I as a transfer requirement while the TP does not; I have emailed UCLA about it and will update if I get a response. I’m not sure why Computer Science in L&S is listed for Berkeley in the TP list when the requirements match EECS more…if anyone knows more about the Transfer Pathways please leave a comment.

UCLA replied to me that I should follow ASSIST, but made no mention of the Transfer Pathways. That confuses me since UCLA is listed in the list of campuses for Compsci TP, so I’m not sure how valid the Pathway is.

Transfer Pathways is new. It is a big initiative of the current UC president. It probably will take a while for the new rules to be implemented in the bureaucracy.
