Computational Engineering at UT

UT Austin is going to have Computational Engineering undergraduate program in fall 2017. Any opinions on how it’s comparable to CS and job opportunities?

It’s an entirely different field than computer science. Computational engineering is all about applying computational numerical analysis toward solving various problem. In other words, the point is translating the mathematical equations governing physical/engineering problems that occur in the real world into versions that may be solved (approximately) by a computer. A program like that would probably also cover some aspects of the computer science of that process such as how to program those methods for massively parallel computing and other such things.
