computational finance major info

i've read through Bachelor of Science in Computation Finance and the courses seem really interesting and more math heavy than a major in finance involves. is it basically a finance major with a minor in applied mathematics?

the site says that there are only ten slots available per graduating class, but that's rarely a reason that people that apply for the major are rejected. does that mean not many people apply, or that <10 of the people that apply are qualified?

if anyone knows more about the program or knows who i can contact/where i can look to get more info, i'd really appreciate it! i'll be a freshman at tepper this fall, but the tepper adviser hasn't contacted his/her students yet so i'm trying to get an idea of how my schedule might differ from the standard four year plan for tepper if i were to try and be a competitive applicant for the computational finance program @ cmu.

3 of my ECE friends successfully transferred into the Comp. Finance program and I don’t think either of them had a 4.0. Yet it’s still extremely competitive and I’d say a good number of students apply
[Department of Mathematical Sciences](Bachelors of Science in Computational Finance - Mathematical Sciences - Mellon College of Science - Carnegie Mellon University) says that you have a good two years before you have to worry about applying. Here you also find contact information, you can email Prof Handron and ask him about it, he’s a really nice guy :)
