Random question, im bringing a less-than-stellar laptop to school, so im afraid i might want to use on campus computers to do work if necessary. can anyone comment on things like what computer labs on campus are like (are the computers slowwwww and if its hard to find an open one at all times)

I was there when my sister went to admitted students weekend. I distinctly recall the science center having this ring of iMacs where you could logon with your student ID and whatnot. I don’t think finding computers to use should be a problem, but you might want to wait for feedback from an actual student.

That said, Harvard offers educational discounts on laptops. Apple is also having their free iPod touch/printer promotion. If you sell both, you can have your (typically $300-$100, depending on the model you get) student discount AND another -$300 after selling the iPod and printer.

Lots of labs, some open 24 hrs (science center, lamont cafe). It’s never very hard to find an open computer. You might want to use a service like [Dropbox - Home - Online backup, file sync and sharing made easy.](http://www.dropbox.com) to have access to your documents anywhere (or just email stuff to yourself).
