Computer Engineering.. College selection...

Hey,
I'm a International Baccalaureate student right now and i want to major in Computer Engineering. My SAT scores is around 1700. My academics scores aren't so great but they are decent ie. 32/42 in IB. My first preference for the location is California..

Im appearing for the SAT exam again in october..

Im planning to apply to the following universities-
University of California, San Diego
University of California, Santa Barbara
University of Illinios at Urbana-Champaign
Purdue University
San Jose State University
California State Polytechnic University,San Luis Obispo
California State Polytechnic University,Pomona

I wanted to know which other CSU can i apply to for Computer Engineering and how is my choice for the colleges?
Whats the main difference between a Cal Poly and CSU.?

How are CSU LB, SFSU , CSU EB , CSU FRES , SDSU for engineering? should i apply to any of them?

Please help me shortlist colleges, which are good for CPE (computer Engineering) and easy to get into..

Thank You..

If you dont mind can you also tell me the source, or any personal experience that supports you.. :)

My husband attended the University of Dayton - started out in Electrical Engineering and switched to computer engineering and has done really well.

I would suggest looking at a few outside of California. Purdue is excellent, and in a high tech growth mode. The programs are very tough but you my have a better chance getting into Purdue than some of the Cal Schools; they get many applicants and you need to take a hard look at some of the UC schools, where you do not get to apply for a major until your Sophomore year (and well, perhaps your major is full on up; it is not easy transfering).

Thank you
which are the other GOOD universities for CPE and easy to get into?

UIUC would be a reach for you. Purdue would be low reach for you too as it is #10 for engineering in the country. If you are from California, you should look at the lower UCs or other in state public schools.

I am an international student…
thanks for your advise :)
