Hi, I'm currently a senior and applying to a bunch of the UC's and a few other schools for computer engineering/science. I was wondering if anyone could just chime in on their thoughts of each school's reputation in computer engineering/science since some rankings vary a lot. I'm applying to UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, Rose-Hulman, and Cal Poly-SLO. I know Berkeley's EECS program is one of the best in the US, but the others I'm not sure about. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

…bump please?

Your question may require too much detailed knowledge about too many schools to get good feedback on CC. US News has rankings of graduate and undergraduate engineering programs, graduate engineering specialties (including EE), and graduate CS programs. Just go with those to get some idea of where the top programs are (although the data made public on their site may only cover the top 10 or so).

Rankings vary because the criteria vary and sampled opinions vary. You’re liable to get just as much variation on College Confidential.

Guy, look under the alphabetical listing of schools on this site, and you can get a feel for the schools you are looking at in those discussions.
