Computer Engineering in Caltech?

Does Caltech really have the program?
i've googled but i haven't found any information about it.
however, caltech's computer engineering program is ranked in the USNWR rankings.

could someone tell me about this?

thank you so much ^^

we have separate programs in ee and cs, but no combined major.

what about this “ECE Study Track” from the CS undergraduate program [Computer Science, Caltech - Undergraduate Study](<a href=“Computing + Mathematical Sciences”>Computing + Mathematical Sciences) ?

That is a suggested course of study for a CS major interested in ECE (as it says on the page).

Are you primarily interested in pursuing the software side or the hardware side of ECE? Caltech’s EE program is absolutely amazing. I’ve also heard good things about the CS department, but they are primarily a computer science department–there is not a lot of software engineering here really.

i’m more on the hardware side actually… any suggestions?

The hardware side of ECE is basically just EE. I feel that our electrical engineering program at Caltech is very strong, and I’d love to answer any questions about it (I’m a EE here).

what about this guy [Michael Maire](http://72.14.235.132/search?q=cache:Nt8f4ehPvqAJ:www.cs.berkeley.edu/~mmaire/mmaire_cv.pdf+caltech+“computer+engineering”&cd=40&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=id&client=firefox-a)
he writes there that he has a BS in ECE from Caltech…

that CS degree with ECE program doesn’t really suit me… Is there any program track that’s the other way around? An EE degree with a little mix of CS… now that’s sweet lol

PS = i’m actually an ECE student from UIUC… i’m planning to transfer =P

There used to be an ECE major at Caltech, there has not been one for a few years.

Don’t waste your time worrying about “program tracks”. All they are are lists of suggested courses (at least in CS and EE, some majors have actual “tracks” that you choose into). If you want a EE degree with some courses in CS, you can do that–just pick the courses you want to take in CS when you get here.

That being said, UIUC has a very good EE department as well.
