<p>I'm on the look for colleges and am looking to major in computer engineering, and in my research I've found that many of the major colleges (MIT for example) have a Electrical Eng. & Computer Science major. I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between that two.</p>
<p>At schools with an EECS major, there should be suboptions within the major, based on course selection within the relatively broad range of EE and CS courses. At such schools, you can do what is similar to a computer engineering major at other schools by choosing appropriate EE and CS courses.</p>
<p>My son is a junior at the University of Michigan College of Engineering in the Department of EECS. As posted above, the EECS department is essentially subdivided into EE, Computer Science, and Computing Engineering. He is majoring in Computer Engineering within EECS</p>
