Computer Engineering vs. Computer Information Systems

I know the differences between the two majors are obvious, but I'm having a real hard time deciding which one I should do for a multitude of reasons.

First being that I'm a really smart guy, but if I were to a CE program, I'd be dependent on medication (for my ADHD) to stay focused on my school work and succeed. When I'm on meds I love problem solving & math, but off the meds I'm really unfocused and impulsive and don't touch schoolwork. If I did CE then my medication would be the key to my success, because this semester has shown that I cannot live up to the academic demands of such a program without external help and I'm unsure if I want to set that kind of precedent for my career.

If I chose CIS, I'd be happy with the less stressful environment and work, and I can see myself becoming interested in business in general because I really liked my IT + Micro/macroeconomics classes I have already taken, but I'll always be feeling that I wouldn't be challenging myself and that I'm admitting to myself I'm not good/smart enough to be an engineer. I'm also scared of the safety blanket (career-wise) I'd have if I didn't do CE.

Basically I feel like I'm always going to think the grass is greener on the other side on whatever major I choose so I need some help here to choose one.

If you choose CIS, you may want to take the CS/CE versions of operating systems, networks, and databases, in order to get a stronger technical foundation in order to be better able to adapt to new technologies and solve difficult problems in an IT career.
