Computer engineering vs electrical engineering.

I can not decide which one to take , computer engineering or electrical engineering.

From what I could gather hardware related jobs and other electrical jobs require an EE. A comp Eng will be able to do the hardware stuff but isn't EE more broader and more marketable (hence more job opportunities)? EE can do everything a CE can do but the opposite is not true.

So basically with CE, the comp sci classes you take are they really useful? All software related jobs require a degree in cs. So EE better for hardware and other electrical jobs and comp sci better for software, where does that leave CE?

Is CE is less marketable compared to EE or CS? If I am wrong please correct me.

Apply as undecided and figure it out in the first year. Most Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering curricula are the same for the first year or even two. Once you are at university you will be able to talk to other students in the programs and with faculty and make a better decision. After graduation, it might not make too much of a difference for any jobs after your first one because it it your experience that counts and you will be in a position to learn more about the other discipline on your own, on the job, or with a masters degree.

CpE is basically a more focused version of EE, dealing with an important sub-discipline.
If you don’t have a problem with things that may not be perfectly applicable to your line of work, I’d go with EE.
