<p>You don’t <em>have</em> to know programming going in to it, but it would not hurt you to get a head start on C.</p>
<p>Computer science and engineering degree programs typically start with the assumption of no CS or programming knowledge, but if you want to get a head start, you may want to go through an introductory CS book like this one:</p>
