Computer Engineering

Hello all,

I have a couple of questions regarding Computer Engineering:

What are some good Computer Engineering universities around the Bay Area? Also, does UCB have a Computer Engineering program? I know they have Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.

What do you guys advise when it comes to transferring and how to prepare myself so my chance of getting into a good University increases aside from keeping up my grades?

What are you guys' thoughts and opinions on Santa Clara University's Computer Engineering program? Is it worth considering?

Thank you very much!

Yes, Berkeley has a choice between Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as Computer Science and Engineering. You would need to decide between these two, depending on what you want to emphasize in for your degree. Another good school is SJSU (which of course should be considered a backup if your grades are enough to consider Cal). I also recommend UC Davis, if you are willing to go slightly outside the Bay Area.

Internships and Awards related to your field

SCU is good, but expensive. It’s worth applying to, but only go there if they offer you a scholarship that drops the cost down to about the UC level.
