I know i am probably presenting this question in the wrong forum but I desperately need help. My computer is terribly slow, and I am not technologically inclined. Does anyone know of any tips or websites that could give me some directions about how to rejuvenate my computer? Help is greatly appreciated.

I have a suggestion: delete your temporary website cookies and your history files

Unfortunately I already tried that, and it didn't make much of a difference.

sorry :( diid you try the manufacturer's website? like if it's a dell dell.com?

What kind of computer do you have?
What OS are you using (XP or OSX)?
How much memory do you have?
What is the size of your hard drive?
How much free space do you have left on it?
(Windows machines require a lot of free space for temporary swap files. The less free space on your hard drive, the slower it will run.)
Have you run disk cleanup and defragged your hard drive?
Do you run anti-virus and anti-spyware software?

A lack of RAM is probably the simplest explanation for why many computers seem to get slower over time. Or you could re-install Windows (assuming you use Windows); that'll probably fix whatever the problem is :)

Perhaps spyware is clogging stuff up. Even if it's not the cause, it's always good to have good anti-spyware apps on your computer, so get and run/use/update all these:

Lavasoft Ad-Aware
Spybot Search and Destroy
WinPatrol
Spyware Blaster
Spyware Guard

And try cleaning up registry with WinASO Registry Optimizer.
