Computer Locks?

How many kids get computer locks, do you really need or use them??

My D never did. She takes her laptop everywhere with her. It’s important to be responsible with it, but she would have less flexibility to work outdoors or at her job if she was going to lock it.

we got one… we figured primarily for times D was going out socially where she wouldn’t be needing her laptop and perhaps her room mate was staying in or having people in and out of the room when D was not around. I have no idea how much it will be used. I just posted in another thread asking how/ where it was secured in the room. we were thinking the desk but don’t know how the desk is structured.

Got one for my daughter as well. Figured it was a good way to keep honest people honest.

My S will be a new freshman in Russell-A. I got him a computer lock just to be on the safe side.

We purchased one of these,

[Vaultz Locking Storage Chest - Blue (VZ00167) : Personal Lockboxes : Vaultz®](http://www.vaultz.net/personal_lockboxes/VZ00167)

had 2 combination locks, as well as ability to attach another lock and metal handles. She used a bike lock to the bed frame, and whatever was of value, checkbook/important papers/laptop inside of it if leaving the room.

Even better might be to look into a rider on your home insurance policy. They’re pretty cheap.

We did get insurance, inexpensive and worth it. Just worried about the hassle if someone does steal it.
