Computer Programming NYC

I'm new to this site and need some help. I recently got out of the navy, moved to NYC and am looking for a college with a good computer programming degree in the area. I don’t want to commute out of the city but want a good school. I was wondering what the top schools for this type of degree in the are would be. The few I have been able to find form other websites and posts on this site are:
NYU-POLY
Globe
CUNY
Columbia
DeVry
I’m confused because some of these look more towards engineering than computer programming and also wondering which schools rank highest in this field in the area. ( they don’t have to be on the list)
All help is appreciated, thank you.

NYU Poly sounds like a good choice but keep in mind that you will not be applying through NYU poly’s application this fall. You will have to use NYU’s application. poly is actually a computer based school.

If you are looking at computer science, then some options nearby include:

CUNY City College
CUNY College of Staten Island
Stony Brook University (on Long Island)
New York University (note that both NYU and PINYU offer CS majors, so you may want to find out what happens when they finish merging if you are interested in either one)

If you are looking for rankings, they commonly have Columbia, NYU (proper), and Stony Brook relatively high.

DeVry and Globe appear to have what may be at best glorified IT majors.
