Computer Science and Business Double Major

Is it easy/possible to double major in both SCS: Computer Science and Tepper: Business at CMU? I know that both programs are among the toughest in the university, so do you think it is possible to do both while having a social life and staying sane? If not, how about minoring in Business? Also, is there a lot of bureaucracy that needs to be passed through before such an arrangement can be made? Are there certain academic requirements? I'm mostly interested in Computer Science, but I was wondering about my possibilities in Business at CMU. Thanks in advance.

It's possible. There is also a 3+2 MBA program that might interest you. In any case, a second major in TSB requires paperwork and some minimum GPA. Also, some Tepper classes have requirements like "must be a junior" which occasionally can be a pain for scheduling. In CS, they only care about prerequisites. You may or may not stay sane, depending on how much you want a superhigh GPA and what your priorities are. You might end up taking a less rigorous courseload in CS to accomodate the business classes, which there are a lot of for a second major (more than many other second majors). Minoring in business I think also requires some bueracracy and more classes than other minors. Second majors/minors in other departments are generally not so paperworky- for cognitive science, I walked into the undergrad program director's office and said "I want to be a double major" and she took my name and ID number and asked if I thought I could complete it on time, officially registered me, and sent me on my way with some paper about what classes I need to graduate.
