Computer Science at George Mason University?

If you had to tell someone a unique aspect of George Mason University, what would it be?
How structured is Mason’s debate team? What is their food like? Does Mason have adequate residential halls and study rooms?
Is George Mason still a ‘commuter’ school or has it transitioned to residential? How is the campus’s ‘atmosphere’? What are the major disadvantages/cons of attending George Mason? What are the advantages/pros of attending?

Also, how academically strong is George Mason? What are its areas of specialty? I’m interested in majoring in Computer Science, Music Technology, Spanish, or Computer Information Systems. I’m aiming at a double major in Computer Science and Music Technology with a minor in Spanish (I’m a native speaker so it should be fairly easy).

I’m currently a Computer Science student at George Mason, and I can tell that George Mason is a very good school. They have a really good Computer Science program; in addition, they have a new major called Cyber Security Engineer, which is really cool. It is a huge school, so you’ll get to know a lot of people when you get there. It took me about 20 minutes to walk from one side of the campus to the other side, so that will tell you how big it is. People there are very friendly, and they came from all over the world. The advantage of attending George Mason is you’ll get connections with companies around DC area, and therefore internship opportunities are there for you. The only disadvantage is DC area is too expensive, and you should prepare to spend around 20k a year. Foods are great! There is a building called Johnson Center, and they have all kinds of restaurant in there; it’s like food court. Also, there are 3 big gyms with a swimming pool inside, so that’s pretty fun. If you don’t like foods in campus, there are many restaurants and fun places around GMU. You can just simply walk there. Overall, it’s fun, and I’m very happy to be part of its community.
