Computer Science at Lafayette College

I am an upcoming senior in High School and I am very interesting in majoring computer science when I am in college. I love Lafayette College because of it’s environment and it’s small. My biggest concern now is how good is the computer science department at Lafayette College. I tried to Google it around and I found very little information from graduated students or current computer science major students at Lafayette.
If someone know even just a little bit of information about Computer Science at Lafayette College please let me know.
Like how good is it when it compares to Rutgers, NJIT, etc. and is it worth going?
Thank you so much.

I have no first-hand information but my D’s friend is a CS major (he stayed with us last Thanksgiving since he lives far away) and he is super happy with the program and said that the CS graduates do very well in terms of both jobs and grad school (whichever they want). In general Lafayette has an excellent career placement office.

This is from school website:

I won’t compare Lafayette to your other schools – each person has his/her individual set of interests, needs, financial situation etc. but IMO Lafayette is certainly worthy of consideration, especially if you are looking for the smaller LAC environment.

Thank you so much for your answer.

One question, do you know if Lafayette College offers Software Engineer? And how many people from LAC graduate each year with Computer Science degree?
Thanks

I can’t help with those questions, sorry. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I think there are about 10-15 students who graduate with a CS degree each year. As far as I know, they top the list each year in terms of salary after graduation. No, there isn’t a Software Engineering degree at Lafayette. There is a Electrical and Computer Engineering degree though. However, that might not be what you’re looking for.

So if electrical and computer engineer are the only two computer science degree that they offers?

Have you looked at the actual Lafayette College web site? You can find answers to majors and courses offered pretty easily.

They have a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in addition to the engineering degree.
