Does anyone know how Computer Science is at McGill? Comparing them to US colleges.
Any information would be helpful.</p>
<p>If u wanna do computer science in Canada, McGill is not the best option. The top Canadian computer science programs are at University of Toronto and Waterloo University, both in ontario, not in quebec. Comparing them to US is hard. In canada you apply directly to the major and do all the courses, while as US u dont declare major till second year. Personally speaking, Waterloo and University of TOronto also have the best math programs in canada and are on par with places such as MIT, Princeton, and Harvard. The combination of good mathematics and computer science is needed. </p>
<p>McGill would fall as third best canadian computer science program. It really depends on you though.</p>
<p>Yeah, I’d probably go to almost any US school for computer science over McGill…it’s just not its forte.</p>
