<p>Hello, I am a high school student and I was wondering about the University of Michigan. I am applying there early, but I am also applying to 5 other schools. For the essay but mostly for myself, I was wondering how does U-M stand out with the program. I know that it is a top school in engineering, but I want to go more in-depth. I heard about the immense research opportunities, but isn't that present in a variety of universities? I am interested to go there because of the hackathon and because I believe that there will be a big community of hacker, the research, and the robotics and engineering clubs. Please help!</p>

<p>Search the UM website or just google UM and technology transfer and entrepreneurship. Michigan is HUGE in pushing for multi-disciplinary approaches to learning and offering degrees. The university offers and unusually large number of cross-school/program opportunities. The undergraduate research opportunity program (UROP) is frequently ranked very highly nationally.</p>
