How is the CS program at UCSD? I hear that it's highly ranked but does it live up to it's reputation? Is it highly demanding? And how might it compare to the CS program at UCSB?

Yes. Indubitably yes.

It is one of the hardest majors workwise on campus. It is also an impacted major now.

Companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Intuit, Facebook, Cisco, Qualcomm, etc. all recruit quite heavily from UCSD.

It is hard. Get ready to bust your a** off cuz this stuff is far from easy.

Compared to Santa Barbara, I don’t know. But at UCSD, it is amazing.

CS is hard. Recruiters from several top companies visit the school.

I’m applying for cs at UCSD next year. What GPA & test scores should I aim for to be a competitive applicant?

My UC GPA is 4.35, the only thing I can do now is improve my test scores. Please reply! Thanks!

This wasn’t the place to ask that question; I don’t know. That sounds high enough to me, although CS is impacted now so admissions have been halved. Work on your test scores and your essays if you want to make yourself more competitive…

Yeah, looking back, I should’ve made a thread for that. Sorry for changing the topic.

Thanks

At least I got a free bump ;D

Is UCSD CS better than UCLA’s?
