I've applied Early Decision to Wake Forest. I've got interests in either Accounting, Finance, and Computer Science. I know they've got a top business school, but I've heard mixed opinions on their CompSci school. Do they have a solid program, or is it incomparable to similarly ranked schools?

Hi!

Unfortunately I do not know much about the Computer Science program here at Wake. I have some friends in it who seem to enjoy it. It does not seem as challenging as Accounting/Finance are, but I believe it is pretty well respected. I took an intro class and I found my professors (lab and class) to be very helpful and intelligent.

Many kids here do a Mathematical Business major paired with a Computer Science minor. That may be something that you would like to look into (or pairing a different business major with a Computer Science minor).

That being said, you can’t go wrong with Wake for business.

Any other thoughts? I heard the business workload is ridiculous and I definitely don’t wanna go through that if my main interest was CompSci

I do know the number of students in the computer science major is relatively small. This means you get a lot of attention from the professors and are essentially guaranteed to do research with the professor of your choice. (At least what I’ve been told by friends in the department).

Check out the department’s website: [Welcome | Wake Forest University Department of Computer Science](http://www.cs.wfu.edu/)

They have some good info on what graduates are doing, what research professors are doing and how you can get involved.

CSC here is not as hard as it in CMU, but still challenging. If you love CSC, don’t hesitant.
