Hi everybody! I'd really appreciate it if anybody could tell me how realistic getting into the school of engineering for these schools is. Thanks in advance!

I think by far my weakest point is are extracurriculars; I don't have the leadership positions or the sports positions that many other competitive applicants have. Assuming a 9/10 essay, are these schools realistic schools or are they too ambitious (especially UCLA and UCB, which are the ones I'm most interested in). Or, am I underestimating myself and should concentrate on other more competitive schools (I will apply anyways, but just curious as to where I stand). Thanks!

Bump

bump, please respond, anybody ]:

I think you’ve honestly got a great chance with those scores and GPA (: Your EC’s aren’t terrible by any means, though you do have a couple things in there that would probably be better under the Honors sections. I hope this helps!

Hey I’m applying to Comp. Science too! Your scores are better than mine -_- . But, have you looked at UT Austin? It’s ranked higher than UCLA, UCSD, and UCI. It’s in top ten and its Comp. Science department is renowned nationally. I heard a Comp. Science degree from UT-Austin would ensure no problem whatsoever when finding a job in big tech companies :stuck_out_tongue: . I’m basically applying to all those schools you listed! Btw, are you ED/EA-ing CMU ?

Good shots at some if the UCs.

Thank you very much for the comments, nerdfighter23 and DrGoogle. I just wanted some assurance that I had a balanced list in terms of safeties, matches, and reaches.

@Harsh1296, thx for the suggestion, I’ll look into UT Austin. I’m doing RD for CMU, and good luck to you! Hopefully we’ll both get into schools that we’ll like ^^

bump, for good measure~

Your ECs are not lacking at all. Although its not aMaZiNg, it definitely is good. If the essays r good enough, i think you have good chance of getting in. But then, UCs focus more on numbers than the essays, so… Other private schools might like u a lot more than UCs do. But thats just my opinion :)
