Computer Science Classes at Columbia

I'd like to take a comp sci class next year, to fulfill the science requirement and to be able to put something valuable on my resume; however, I have very limited knowledge of the subject, and even less about the rigor of comp sci at CU and the teaching methods of the professors...so if someone could tell me a bit about COMS W1001, W1003, W1004 or any other useful comp sci class, I'd really appreciate it! :)

the intro classes are taught from scratch so no previous knowledge required. i took 1004 to fulfill the comp sci requirement in SEAS. it was probably one of the most important classes i took.

How’s W1007 for someone with both AP Comp. Sci A & AB experience?

I’d say 1007 would be just right, if not going over many things that you already know. I’ve taken AP A, AP AB, IB HL, and another college course on CS, and I’m looking to skip 1007 since the material it covers will overlap a lot: object-oriented paradigms, basic data structures/algorithms, etc.
