So I'm trying to find good colleges that I would enjoy going to, and I'm certain that I want to major in computer science. For the most part I'd like to stay in the west/west coast, but possibly some schools in the midwest (I've looked at UMinn). I really wouldn't want to go to the east coast unless it's for MIT/ivy league/similar schools.

My number one choice is Stanford, for obvious reasons. But I need to find some other schools too. I was thinking UWashington for a while, but it's huge and I'd prefer a more medium size school. And I also don't want a school with tons of partying or stuff like that, I want an at least semi-intellectual environment.

Other schools I've looked at include UCBerkeley and UCDavis. I'm not sure about Berkeley because, although the CS program is great there, I don't know if I'd enjoy that environment.

If I go to California I'd probably want to be somewhere near the Silicon Valley, or north of that. I don't like SoCal that much.

Can anyone help me out in looking for colleges to apply to that have both a great CS program and a good environment (medium sized, not a party school, etc)?
