Nyu, UIUC, UMD.
I need to pick two of these three. Which of these two would provide be an easier route to grad school/ better employment?

The job market is great for CS and CE. Most have offers before they are done with college, and one of those degrees is offered in just about every major college.
Start with deciding if you are engineering or not. Im not sure how you got down to these three schools not knowing that ?
Is UMD minnesota duluth ? What state are you in ?
Which ones can you afford to attend? (see net price calculator at each school’s web site)
Why can you pick only two?
UIUC is great for CS and has strong placement, but it is difficult to get into the CS program.
As far as getting into graduate school is concerned, the schools are roughly equal (all are very well regarded research schools). For recruiting, UIUC and UMD are better.
There are a lot of factors that go into this decision so I can only speak on brand name here. UIUC has a phenomenal CS program and very strong industry connections, NYU is really expensive especially for a school that isn’t well known for engineering so I don’t think that is a solid choice. I can’t speak much for UMD but I hear it is solid.
UMD-CP has a terrific CS program, if that’s the school you are referring to (U Maryland -College Park)
I’d pick UIUC or UMD-CP over NYU for CS - as good (arguably better) program at a (much) lower cost. The flip side is that UIUC CS is really hard to get into.
They are all excellent for CS. And NYU might cost the same as UIUC or UMD College Park. The locations are vastly different though: middle of the corn fields, suburb of Washington DC, or New York City. The difference in quality of the CS programs at the undergraduate level is very unclear.
I’d venture to say UIUC > NYU = UMCP by some small margin, just by program quality.
Yes, it’s UMD college park. If I were to get a job internationally, would NYU be better known or UMD? In United States, UMD’s computer science program is probably better recognized.
Does anyone know what kind of internships are near NYU or UMD?
There are many more internship/co-op opportunities for cs/engineering in the D.C. metro area than in NYC. Departments in the federal government, such as the FBI and Homeland Security, as well as private defense contractors like Northrop Grumman are constantly recruiting interns out of UMD.
UIUC computer science is a big step up from the other two, and has like a 10% acceptance rate.
Maryland’s CS program is good though.
Is there are reason why you included NYU for CS? Very expensive and not particularly special in CS.
