Hi! My son is a junior and visited Georgetown and loves it. Is anyone in the computer science dept. able to comment on the program?
Thanks!

My son is a current student in CS at GU. GU’s computer science program is not ranked with the top programs, BUT, because it is Georgetown, you will be able to get decent internships and job offers. The dept is small (but growing) so you will not get lost. You will know all of your profs and they will know you from freshman yr on.
Generally, GU is not known as a powerhouse for science, but it does a great job in undergrad education.

Georgetown’s education certainly served him well

The computer science department is a small department with extremely strong faculty and phenomenal employment/graduate school placement. There are approximately 50-60 total declared undergraduate majors (across the four years) and 15 full-time faculty (a great faculty:student ratio). There is tremendous faculty interaction for majors in the department as well as compelling internship/work opportunities in the DC area with the various government/business/research organizations.
