Computer Science- Double Major

I was accepted into Computer Science for Fall 2014 and most likely will be attending. I was wondering how possible it is to double major in Computer Science as well as Computer Engineering or have a minor like Business and still get out in four years. Thanks for any advice!

You are packed just to get the CS degree in four years. The curriculum map has ZERO free electives. That means everything you’d need to add for a minor that wasn’t already part of your curriculum would add time. You might have enough credits from AP or dual enrollment to blunt that a bit, but it’s going to be tough in 4 years. I’d venture that a double would be nearly impossible and likely discouraged by the school.

All the info you need is here: http://eadvise.calpoly.edu/majors/csc/

Good luck!

So maybe a minor is possible. I’m pretty fortunate when it comes to credits coming into the fall- I have between 7-9 courses complete, depending on what they take:
Calculus I (at a college)
Calculus II (at a college)
Calculus III (at a college)
One semester of Physics with Calculus (Community College)
AP Psychology (4)
AP Biology (4)
AP Lit (Not taken yet)
AP Comp (Not taken yet)
US History Class (Community College)

A math minor isn’t too difficult either, especially for the engineering disciplines. I know that mechanical engineers here only need to take 2-3 additional classes to get a math minor.
