I was recently accepted into the Computer Science program in the College of Engineering, and I was wondering, what is it like? I honestly feel so unqualified, I have no idea how I got in after seeing some of the people on here get deferred or denied.

What are the class sizes, how much homework is given, what kind of classes do you take, etc? And how hard would it be for someone with little to no experience with computer programming or languages? Should I take computer science classes at a local community college in the summer? Should I even bother spending so much money (I'm out of state) for a major I know so little about? Sorry, I have a lot of questions lol...

You shouldn’t be worried. They assume you have zero programming experience. I went to the CS program with very basic programming knowledge (did not know what OOP was). I took all Bio courses in highschool and was accepted into UChicago before I had a change of mind on doing Bio and as luck would have it UIUC offered the CS program even though I applied for Bioengineering. Anyway I turned out alright. CS isn’t really about programming anyway but math and algorithms. If anything you will find learning how to code the easiest.
