hello
please help me to decide
i choose college depending on the major i want
since i was little i wated to work in computer feild and last year i thought that i'm going to major in computer science then i realised that there was not electronics and hardware in it computer engneering was then the solution but good schools don't have a compputer engeneeig degree like mit and the second problem is that there is no phd for computer engeneering and my last problem is that mit in its computer science program gives a lot of computer engneering couses
please help me so i could choose a college
thanks a lot

MIT does have computer engineering, it is just called SB in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science…

Double major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

…and work on your writing/grammar/spelling skills, they will come in handy in college ;-)

I’d say please research the forum. We just had another thread like this this past week.

PhD is meant for people who absolutely need it, and really want to have it.
Most people don’t really need PhD, IMO. Unless you want to work in academia, or research-based career.

There is PhD for computer engineering. I don’t really remember about MIT. It should. You don’t need to attend MIT to get a degree. Find a school that is reachable, and safe for you. If you really like MIT, by all means please apply.

Computer engineering is 1/2 CS and 1/2 EE. We usually refer the upper level courses as 3000+ and 4000+ (usually in upper junior and senior year). In a typical CS, most 3000+ and 4000+ are electives. So Computer engineering and CS students actually take most of the CS courses (1000+ and 2000+) together, There are a few exceptions only available to CS students.

It depends on the school, however.

CpE is generally one of the hardest engineering majors because you are doing two things at a time: CS and EE.

thanks a lot for your help
and what about stanford ,?
