<p>True. I didn’t mean “never take those classes”, I guess it came off that way. I just meant that 11A requires 5J and I didn’t want anyone to accidentally take the wrong class instead of 5J.</p>
<p>I took CMPS 12A without any prior programming experience and let me tell you, it was easy at first, but towards the end it got real hard. Luckily for the easy graders, I pulled an A but got B’s on midterm and finals. It’s all about the programming assignments, those are worth a lot.</p>
<p>CMPS 12A is Java programming only, so if you’re scared to take the first step, I’d take the CMPS 5J first. But 12A wasn’t too bad, if you listen in class and do the assignments you’ll learn how to program easily.</p>
