I am interested in pursuing Computer Science as my college major this fall. My main concern however, is that I missed A LOT of school throughout my high school career and my math grades suffered as a result. Before I could even think about taking PreCalc, I have to take MATH 082 and MATH 083 and then College Algebra and so on.
Would building up my math skills get me to the point where I could take the math required by my major proficiently or should I seek another major? I was able to grasp concepts I learned in school with a reasonable amount of practice and I actually enjoy math when I understand exactly what I'm supposed to do. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

same boat here, i will probably have to take remedial classes for computer science or any other science major for that fact.

if its really what you you want to do i suggest you do what im going to do, take the classes at the local community college, get good grades, then transfer your general ed requirements to your preferred university. reason being is that if you fail a class the classes at community college are dirt cheap and you can repeat them, and will make it easier for people like us to get into a better university if we can get good grades than if we started at a university.

good luck.
