Computer Science Major Overloaded?

QCstudent: I’m glad you like your school, but every post you make is about Stony Brook CS and how it compares to other programs (and there’s always something negative said about them).

Moving on. I can’t help but think Subsidized has gotten limited exposure to CS. If you’ve only taken introductory programming classes, then of course you’re going to find CS somewhat elementary. CS is somewhat narrow, true, but it has applications in almost every field. The world runs on software. If you get a CS degree, I don’t think you’ll find yourself wanting for a job.

GLOBALTRAVELER: School pimpery is okay, but denigrating other schools to make yours look better is in bad taste.

And what you did is just fine. I think my school is pretty good too. Go wolfpack! But what has been the current theme is far far FAR different, on quite a few threads recently.

But yeah, sumzup is correct, there are no shortage of jobs at this moment and it would take a while for it to be flooded. If it is what you love, do it. If you don’t know what you love, then think of the environment that you want to be in, and put yourself there. CS is a great, and really interesting field, I personally which I could take a lot more classes in it.

I agree…EXCEPT when…

Michigan State denigrates Michigan
Michigan State denigrates Notre Dame
Michigan State denigrates Ohio State

That must be allowed on this website…LOL

I am a graduate of UNC, and now go to NC State. I have denigrated myself, haha, but at least it wasn’t Duke!
