Computer Science Major Prep for Davis TAG (Eng CS 30 req)

Hi there :)!
So i was making sure of the major prep courses needed for Tag at Davis[CS(BS) Major] and I’m a little confused on one requirement. For UC Davis’ ENG CS 20-30-40 and 60 Requirements I will be able to take discrete math( ENG CS 20) at one of the 4 colleges in my home college district (Peralta),Object oriented/Fundamentals C++(ENG CS 40) at CCSF and Python/Data structures( Either one satisfies the ENG CS 60 req). The problem is that i tried looking up the eng cs 30 requirement course and only one comparable course is taught at ONE college in the district which is C programming but it wasn’t taught the whole year (Fall 2015 and is not Being taught in Spring 2016 either). I checked most of the colleges around me and the classes comparable for UC Davis’s ENG CS 30 are intro to C++ or intro to Java (at chabot and ccsf either of these satisfies requirement 30).I took intro to programming in C++ (5 units) but it doesn’t show up as a requirement.I only have 1 more year after this semester in CC as ill be applying for tag this fall So i can not take chances on this course and want to know if My CIS 6( intro C++) class will satisfy it or taking intro to Java at ccsf will also be eligible as an alternative of C Programming to clear the major prereq (eng cs 30). I know this was long but I’d really appreciate any type of help.
Thank you in advance :)!

You have a UC Davis advisor assigned to your CC within at least one of your schools you attend within the Peralta district. Contact them. Also why are you linking non-CS major prep pages?

I’m aware of that just thought I’d seek somehelp from here as the counselors at my colleges don’t really help much.
And I’m pretty sure i linked CS requirements from Assist
@napapapa

First and second links are to Aerospace Science and Engineering? Trust me I understand what you mean but a UCD rep whose assigned to your school will have a much better idea than us. Regardless, if CIS 6 doesn’t articulate for you and you’re having trouble taking CIS 26 within Peralta then I’d advise you to take CSCI14 at Chabot which is offered every single semester.

Edit: Oh you linked to the general catalogs instead of just the page for Computer Science.

@napapapa My bad probably didn’t realize i posted aerospace. Fosho i will try meeting one soon thanks for the advice :).
The thing is chabot is 50-55 mins (minimum) away from my house. For ccsf im getting the java course offered online and for ccsf it says any of the two (intro c++ or intro java) can fulfill the eng cs 30 requirement from ccsf.
was curious if it actually will.

Damn an hour away definitely sucks. If the online Java course is CS 111A then yeah it’ll definitely articulates for ENG CS 30. Looks like ENGN 38 articulates too that’s some good flexibility all around. Good luck with everything man and take note of the changes for UCD’s TAG for Computer Science this upcoming school year in regards to maintaining a B average for your CS and Calc series.

@napapapa I guess Java is the best option then. Ill learn a new language and it articulates to the cs 30 requirement too. Yeah ill to my best I got a B in calc 1 and hopefully can do much better in the next calculus class. Thanks a lot for your help :)! Good luck to you too!
