Computer Science major w/ minor in EE

Hi everyone,

I am currently enrolled at UIC in Chicago and am majoring in computer science. I came in to school with a semester done from AP credits and was set to graduate in 3.5 years. I recently just decided to minor in electrical engineering, though, and now I will be graduating in four years. In a few weeks I will have my first semester done. I decided to do this because EE interests me and I wanted to be able to know something about the hardware I would be making software for and just how that stuff works in general. I am just curious if having an EE minor on a resume even matters to someone who could be hiring me for CS? I am doing EE because it interests me but it would still be good to know if this gives me an edge or do employers not care about minors?

It does, I did a lot of job searches to see what particular engineering professions require, and I saw at least two jobs where they wanted someone mainly for their CS degree, but required knowledge of EE.

Minoring in EE does not matter for most CS employers.

Yes, I interview and hire CS graduates regularly.
