Computer Science Major : What Schools with Scores

Hi, so I live in NJ and I am an upcoming senior.
I want to major in Computer Science but with my current scores, I feel that I can’t get into the engineering school for colleges.
My ACT Score: 26
My GPA: 2.77
Extracurriculer: Wrestling
Volunteered for Red Cross and Liberty Science Center

I am aware that the scores shown for admission in a college is inaccurate as it doesn’t portray the scores needed to enter the computer science fields.
I attempted to google the scores needed for computer science for Rowan but was unable to find it.
Can anyone suggest schools I can get in with my scores for computer sciencs?

Great choice of a career, I am in IT and a U of Iowa Alumni.

First, you dont need to go to an engineering college. A CS degree for a liberal arts college will also be fine and may be easier to get into.

Your GPA is a bit low but Rutgers and Montclair should work for you.

Your ACT is squarely inside the 50% admission agerage for Rowan. Most colleges dont care what your major is for the purpose of admission. They care what college you are applying to, and in some situations if you are applying to a specific program. Some colleges and programs are tougher but liberal arts will typically be easier.

Hey! I’m also a rising senior from NJ looking to enter the CS field

A lot (and I mean a LOT) of colleges offer CS degrees. And the good thing about CS is that it doesn’t matter where you go. As long as you do internships while you’re in college, you’ll look fairly appealing to employers coming out of school. Try to focus more on schools with a good ‘fit’ (size, location, culture, costs, etc.). Much more often than not, they’ll offer a CS program.
