Computer Science Major

Seeking a Computer Science major as an undergraduate degree, which college is considered better and will offer me a better education (ie. better curriculum) and opportunity in the future.

Georgia State University, Southern Polytechnic State University or Kenessaw State University

im fairly positive that i can get into the 3 schools

I assume you are from GA, can you go to school for free?

yes i do , im going to graduate with HOPE scholarship, so they will pay for tuition and stuff

I’ve heard negative things about kennesaw’s CS, good things about spsu’s CS. GSU is probably fine if you’re into the urban thing. UGA is also good.

If you have HOPE I would look at GA Tech of course, which is the best department in the southeast, but not all that hard to get into

GA Tech is out of reach for me atm, maybe ill end up switching, also im pretty sure if i get into tech ill lose HOPE which is not an option for me, i am strongly considering GA state or SPSU, UGA is far from my home and my parents dont want me to live in a dorm (not negotiable) . So i think it drops to GA State or SPSU

Personally, I wouldn’t be able to go to SPSU since I just don’t like the area or the school itself. I’d go to state for that reason only. SPSU is primarily engineering, but CS is fairly good usually if the school is decent, and rankings hardly matter for CS anyhow.

They’re pretty much at the same level, just depends on what you want to do. I think Atlanta is way cooler than Marietta, so I’d pick State.
