Just wondering what my chances were, and yes I know the obvious flaws so please don't state the obvious. Also, I was wondering if this is a heavily contested major, in other words, does it fill up rather quickly. Thank you.

What do you mean the obvious flaws? It seems you know your chance already.

No its just that some people point out like low sat scores. I’m like really, tell me something I don’t know.

You don’t have to declare your major here until your sophomore year, so you aren’t competing against other students for slots in it. I’ve not heard of people being turned away from LSA majors for want of space; if you applied to CoE CS, that might be different, but I can’t speak to it. You have good extracurriculars, and that fluency in five languages (and knowledge of the six programming languages) is a strong point in your favor.

I notice that you didn’t include your GPA. Your rank is good to know, but GPA is also important to chancing you.

3.71 GPA

Your EC seems to be good. However, UMich put a lot of weight on GPA (besides test scores). Being URM and first generation help, but your stat seems to be a bit far off particularly for oos. Don’t put much hope on it. What other schools are you looking at? You may consider Purdue. It should be less competitive and yet a very good engineering school.
