Computer Science Major

I am currently a High School Junior looking for a good College/University that offers Computer Science and Video Game Dev. A little bit about myself:
-Ethnicity: Asian (Pakistani-American)
-High School GPA: 3.9
-SAT/ACT: Not taken yet
-Advanced Classes: AP Comp Sci; 3 credits for Digital Art from SUNY Farmingdale.
-Extracurriculars: Part of the school's Mouse Squad chapter and USFIRST FTC Robotics Team
-Sports: Cricket

Colleges that seem like a good fit for me (can be wrong; thats why I ask here :P), which are in no particular order :
-Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
-Rochester Institute of Technology
-Drexel University
-Northeastern University

Stuff to consider when choosing a college (Most important to least important) :
-Location (More near = better)
-Tuition after any aid/scholarship etc.
-Quality of education
-Quality of lifestyle in case I have to dorm

Now in a perfect world I'd try to apply for all top colleges but since my family being a relatively poor, traditional one, I have to consider more about location and tuition than quality of education.

I also have to opportunity to receive 3 credits for Computer Science from St. John's Uni thru their College Advantage Program but I'm not entirely sure if I should pay for it. Your thoughts?

I appreciate any and all help I get from you guys :)

My S is also a junior and interested in computer science and game design/ development. We visited and he loved RIT. I think you chose good schools that would be a match for you considering your major. Other schools to consider would be Marist, StonyBrook, and Steven’s Institute.

Thanks for your reply!

I also feel like RIT would be a good choice however did he look at RPI? I wonder what his thoughts on that is.

We did not look at RPI I think because of the size ( too small) and cost ( too high) . I also think it would be a reach school for him.

A lot is going to turn on your SAT or ACT score because your GPA suggests you could be a candidate for FA of some kind. There’s no way of telling however without running some net price calculators at these schools and figuring out as best you can what college might cost your family. Your parents might not want to share with you their financial info, but try to convince them to sit down with you to go thru this process now rather than waiting for you to send in your apps. You don’t want to apply to schools you’re not likely to be able to afford. You want to find out how much your parents can contribute, too.

It’s hard to get a good idea of where he has a chance at without knowing his SAT/ACT scores. Once we have those we can put more into perspective of where he’d have a good chance at getting in (or getting merit aid)

I am pretty confident I’ll get at the very least an 1800 in the SATs, taking that into account what would be some good picks?
