<p>Hey all, just wondering, would a computer science major be advantagous, or harmful when appling to lawschool? I've heard the most important factors are LSAT and gpa but how would a computer science major contribute to ones sucess (or unsucess) in lawschool and the practice of law in general, if at all.</p>
<p>Doesn’t matter. Maybe in some patent law area. You can be any major and go to law school. Maybe your interest would drive you to a certain area of law or of the country.</p>
<p>A BS in computer science will not directly hurt/help your chances to get into law school. But because it is one of the hardest undergrad degrees (IMO at least), it will more than probably do work on your GPA, causing you to be at a disadvantage when applying to law school (people with poli. science degrees average around a 3.7). </p>
<p>But if it is what you want to do, by all means go for it. If you don’t get into law school, or decide law school isn’t for you (more probable of the 2), you’ll be left with a degree relating to a career that you wouldn’t mind pursuing. That’s why I’m an EE…</p>
