computer science or business?

if you're interested in starting a computer software company- something like a mini version of yahoo or apple, should you major in computer science or business?

You could always double-major, or major in one and take a large number of classes in the other. If you’re thinking of starting your own company, the knowledge in your head will most likely be more important than the exact wording on your degree, and you’ll probably want as much knowledge in both areas as you can get.

You should get a 6-3 degree with a minor in management.

A course 6/15 double major is one of the most common combos here. If you really only want one major without minors, I would go with course 6 just so that it gives you the technical background about computer science.

hmm MIT dosen’t have a minor in management, does anyone know why?

There are actually two minors in Sloan: [Management and Management Science](http://mitsloan.mit.edu/undergrad/minor-management.php).

Some departments at MIT have minors and some don’t. It’s a choice made by the department. Regardless of whether you intend to complete a minor, you can still take classes in a department.
