Computer Science or Computer Engineering

EDIT: Major: Computer Science - I'm fairly decided on that, and not CmpE.

State - Connecticut
GPA - 3.45
Rank - Top 14%
Class Rigor - All Honors, 1 AP - plan to take 3/4 APs Senior year.
ECs - Good.
SAT - (Projected #s) Math: 750, CR: 600, W: 680

I've got the prestigious schools on my small list (GT, Carnegie Mellon, UIUC, Purdue), now I'm looking for some more good schools that would be good fits for me in the local area. (And feel free to suggest non-local one's too!)

Is money a concern? Or will your parents pay for the school of your choice?

LMU
Gonzaga
Santa Clara
Univ of Colorado

Money = not an issue. Keep in mind I said somewhat local schools (I live in CT; Zaga is in Washington, Santa Clara is in Cali)

I *

I thought I knew how to read…

UMass
NYU
U Rochester
SUNY Stony Brook

UMD College Park

Rutgers University
University of Maryland, College Park
SUNY, Stony Brook

RPI, UIUC, NEU, BU, U Rochester.

@mom2collegekids: I figured people would suggest some local one’s and then some non-locals at the end of their suggestions.

Thanks for your suggestions guys! I’ll take a look into Stony Brook. Also, do you guys have any opinion on SUNY-Binghamton for Computer Science?

^ For the SUNYs:

Stony Brook
big drop

Buffalo
big drop

Binghamton

I live in NY SUNY’s are not worth it unless you want to be a doctor, teacher, or accountant.

UMass
Penn State
U of Maryland
U of Delawre
U of Connecticut
MIT
BU
Northeastern
RPI
Lehigh
U of Rochester
RIT
UIUC
Purdue

You won’t get into CMU or GT.

"You won’t get into CMU or GT. "

hmm then why put MIT on the list?
don’t worry you definitely have a shot

U Rochester
RIT
BU
Northeastern

I’m seeing a lot of suggestions for U of Rochester - I will add that (I’m sorry, I lied a little bit to elicit big responses, I have a fairly large list, just not enough locals [IMO]). My sister went to BU and I didn’t really like it, so not going to add that.

RPI, WPI, RIT, Lehigh, Georgia Tech, Purdue, UIUC, CMU, UConn, UDel, Maryland, UMass, Northeastern, Stevens, Villanova, Rochester, Stony Brook

Then some other schools I have listed but not really considering all that much. Maybe I have more local schools than I figured.
