computer science or spanish next year?

hi, i’m a 10th grader. i’m going to 11th grade next year, and i am interested in computer science and engineering, but computer science more. i will have 2 years of world language, but everyone keeps telling me to take world language next year(which i absolutely HATE) but i really want to take computer programming next year so i can take AP com.

so…which one should i do? i also heard that colleges like 3 years of world language, which really confuses me, especially if you aren’t even doing anything related to world language. it makes me really frustrated because i really don’t want to take spanish, but if colleges require it, i might have to

Most colleges require 3 years of foreign language to be admitted and recommend 4. Furthermore, most colleges have a foreign language requirement to graduate, so its in your best interest to continue spanish.

It depends on the college you’re interested in, but most in the top fifty to hundred require 3 years of foreign language.

Can you do both possibly? Somehow switch something around so you can take Spanish and Computer Science? You should take both courses.

sorry for the really late reply…i can’t…the most i can do is take com sci senior year(i have to, actually) but i just hate how world language, something not many people pursue makes a difference in college apps.
