I was admitted to the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the College of Letters and Sciences and want to major in Computer Science. I am currently deciding between Purdue and Wisconsin and was looking for more information on what companies recruit from the school and where students in the past have gone. Purdue and other schools post this information on their website (https://www.cs.purdue.edu/corporate/placement/index.html) but I cannot find this for Wisconsin. The only information I could find was this list (https://www.cs.wisc.edu/the-student-experience/computer-sciences-annual-job-fair/) on the career fair but neither Amazon nor Microsoft is there. I was wondering if this information is posted anywhere else or is this all. Also, any other information that could help me decide would be appreciated.
Also see Comp Sci uses the Engineering recruitment office. https://ecs.wisc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/86/2017/03/CMPE-Employer-Recruitment-List-17-18.pdf
So according to the computer engineering report, neither amazon nor google visit Wisconsin for recruiting?
Hey just wanted to jump in with some perspective as a recent grad:
@nlnsnh Not sure to the above, but I wouldn’t worry.

If you goal is FAANG (which sounds like it might be) OCR doesn’t matter a ton. You just kinda find each other given the deluge of applicants

UWM’s CS program and recruitment is phenomenal. Truly. My day job makes me pretty on top of software by geography and there’s a rich software scene there. Mind you, it’s mostly healthcare focused, but the ability to find a high paying, technically challenging job early in one’s career is there a disproportionate amount.
re above- I presume you mean UW- meaning Madison, not UWM meaning Milwaukee.
