Hi guys!
I was wondering if I could get some opinions/insight on helping me choose the right school for my next four years of life. I’m a female from NorCal deadset on majoring in Computer Science (I love it!) and I can’t decide where to go. I consider myself to be a pretty relaxed person, but very social and ambitious. I do not consider myself to be a hardcore partier, but I may dip in/out of the party scene when I’m in the mood. I also intend to study abroad in Germany at one point, participate in research, and some sort of robotics entities.
Accepted directly into CS:
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (No. 5 in US News for CS)
UC Santa Barbara
UC Davis
UC Santa Cruz
UC Irvine
Waitlisted for CS:
University of Michigan
(Also accepted to UC San Diego, UCLA, and University of Washington at Seattle, but given Undeclared instead of CS for these three, which I highly dislike. Transferring into CS may not be possible so I have disregarded them.)
Out of the schools I’ve listed, which of these schools would you recommend for the most well-rounded Computer Science education? I’m looking for a school with a fantastic CS department, plenty of research/internship opportunities, and an overall great social experience. (Money is NOT an issue.)
Also, if you attended one of these schools, what was your overall experience like?
Thanks!
