Computer Science schools

If your son is looking for small and intimate with good faculty interaction and a strong CS department, I would also put in a plug for Rice. My son is a freshman there and planning on double majoring in CS and ECE. He is loving the environment (both academic and social) and has had the opportunity to do with research with a CS professor there already. He turned down Carnegie Mellon, Cornell and a host of other great CS schools because in the end he preferred the overall environment at Rice much more -- very collaborative, socially inclusive, residential college system, no Greeks, etc. And this is a kid who started off wanting to go far away for college but realized in the end that the only "down side" to going to Rice was its proximity to home!

And timothyandrew -- Rice doesn't have FA for international students, but there are merit awards specifically designated for internationals.

If any of the previous posters are interested in Rose-Hulman, they should look into Operation Catapault, their summer program for HS juniors (soon to be seniors).
